Graphdiyne-Coated Microfiber All-Optical Temporal Modulator Based on Saturable Absorption

A high-speed all-optical modulator is a key device in next-generation communication systems. Due to easy fabrication and an effective modulation effect, two-dimensional (2D) material–microfiber structure modulators have aroused much attention. Graphdiyne (GDY) excellent nonlinear optical material expected be utilized modulators. In this work, we demonstrate GDY-coated temporal according its saturable absorption. Under the pump pulse light of 1,064 nm, fabricated successfully modulates continuous-wave (CW) 1,550 nm waveform with width 4 ns repetition rate 5 kHz. Our results show that GDY could used pave way for research information processing applications.
